Trauma Sensitive Yoga for victims of crime in the ACT

I am an approved provider of trauma sensitive yoga under Victims Support ACT (VSACT)’s Victims Services Scheme. This scheme provides free access to trauma sensitive yoga classes in addition to other therapeutic services to:

  • a person who is impacted by experiencing a crime in the ACT

  • a person who has experienced family violence or sexual assault in the ACT

  • a family member(s) of a person who has experienced a crime in the ACT

  • a family member(s) of a person who has died by homicide in the ACT

  • a person who has witnessed a crime in the ACT

Information for VSACT clients

Location:

Capital Clinical Psychology, first floor, Suite 2 of 72-74 Townshend St, Phillip ACT 2606. (The entrance is on the corner of Townshend St and Dundas Court).

Lots of parking nearby.

For those who prefer open spaces, fresh air and sunlight, outdoor sessions can also be arranged in Mawson.

Class format:

All classes are one on one.

Who can attend?

To access free private classes, clients need to be referred by a case coordinator from Victims Support (ACT).

Each class will be tailored to meet the needs of each individual. If you have any specific needs, please get in touch to discuss what I can do to accommodate your needs. I hope for everyone to be as comfortable as possible.

All participants are required to be engaged in talk based therapy or have an ongoing relationship with a therapist.

What to bring?

A yoga mat and water if you wish.

What to wear?

Wear whatever enables you to move comfortably.
